Have a Fun Family Night With Hasbro Games!

Hasbro is a long time provider of fun and creativity for kids of all ages. The parent company to brands like Play-Doh and PLAYSKOOL among many others and a huge supporter of Family Game Night, Hasbro always has the hottest and most popular toys and games. It was only natural that we would want to test drive some of the awesome family games they have out this holiday season! Hasbro was gracious enough to send us three games to review: Monopoly City, CLUE Secrets & Spies, and the PICTUREKA Card Game. Our favorite out of all the games was Monopoly City. We're big Monopoly fans, so maybe that's why, but Caitlyn had a blast with this game. It could have something to do with the fact that she beat Jeremy and I every time we played! Monopoly City is very similar to regular Monopoly except that you build up your districts in the middle of the board with pieces and create a whole 3-D city. There also bonus buildings that you get to build like stadiums and playgrounds, and you can even sabotage another player by building a sewage plane or prison in their district. The first thing I noticed when we opened the box is that the money is different. No more 100's. It's all about the millions! I have yet to attain the coveted Monopoly Tower in my districts, but I haven't given up yet. Monopoly City retails for $34.99 and includes gameboard, 6 movers, buildings, 22 District cards, 25 Chance cards, 6 Reminder cards, 1 Rent Dodge card, 2 dice, 1 money pack, 1 trading unit and instructions. Requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). For 2 to 6 players. Ages 8 and up.
When my parents were here visiting, it was the perfect time to pull out our new CLUE Secrets & Spies game and try it out. It is completely different than the classic CLUE game! At first it was a little confusing, as it's definitely a strategy game. But soon we had got the hang of it and were well on our way to being spies. The board is made up of several different international cities where you rendezvous for secret meetings and pick up your mission items the whole time protecting your secret identity. There's also an optional addition to this game that includes your cell phone. You can get Spy Text messages sent directly to your phone that contain clues throughout the game! Standard text messaging rates do apply, but they only send you about six message total per game. The only complaint that we had was we wish that the scoring wasn't quite so complicated. CLUE Secrets & Spies retails for $24.99 and includes game board, 42 Activity cards, 6 Secret Identity cards, 15 Secret Meeting cards, 18 Mission cards, 6 Quick Rules cards, 2 "X" tokens, 7 item tokens, 7 movers, 7 scorers, spy light (with batteries) and instructions. For 2 to 6 players.
We really enjoyed our copy of the PICTUREKA Card Game. The deck of cards can be used to play four different versions of the game! We tried them all and definitely liked the 8-Away version the best. It's fast and chaotic, but so much fun! The PICTUREKA Card Game is recommended for ages 6 and up and for 2 or more players. The kids loved the "I Spy" aspect of this game and I thought it was great at encouraging their observation skills. We also appreciated that it's quick to play and easy to learn. Children's games need to be appropriate for their attention level, and this card game hits the spot perfectly, plenty of fun and challenge in just the right amount of time and skill level.
